WALT: add using tidy numbers

I have been learning to add using tidy numbers. Tidy numbers are numbers that end in a 0. Here is an Example.

The first question is 43 + 29. The first thing to do is to make a tidy number. We make a tidy number by adding 1 onto the 29 to make 30. Where does the one come from? We takeaway 1 from the 43 to make 42. 3 + 4 = 7 so 30 + 40 = 70 and adding two makes 72. Now you know what tidy numbers are,  you can try use the strategie for yourself.

  1. It looks like you have got this mastered tame. Have you tried writing a question yourself using bigger numbers? Have a go and come and share it with me! We are all very impressed with how you are developing as a learner!
